When you first open the app, two sample family members (Mom and Dad) are already set up. To get started right away:
That's it. Your data is stored locally on your device; no internet connection is required.
The bottom menu gives you access to four main sections:
| Icon | Screen | What it's for |
|---|---|---|
| 🏠 | Home | Medicine list, search, filters, statistics |
| 🔔 | Alerts | Medicines that are expired/expiring soon or running low |
| 👨👩👧 | Family | Add/edit members, per-person summary |
| ⚙️ | Settings | All app settings, backup, premium |
A badge on the Alerts icon shows how many medicines need attention.
Use the ➕ button on the Home screen to add a new medicine. To edit an existing one, tap the ✏️ icon on its card or the pencil icon on the detail screen.
| Field | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Medicine Name | ✅ | e.g. "Paracetamol" |
| Dose | ✅ | e.g. "500 mg" |
| Stock | — | Quantity (defaults to 0 if left empty) |
| Medicine Type | ✅ | Tablet, Syrup, Capsule, Ointment, Drops, Ampoule, Spray, Other |
| Who It's For | ✅ | Chosen from your family members |
| Purpose | ✅ | e.g. "Pain reliever" |
| Expiration Date | ✅ | Month + Year |
| Note | — | Optional free text |
| Purchase Date | — | Optional, exact date |
The medicine type also determines the stock unit (tablet → "tablet", syrup → "bottle", ointment → "tube", etc.).
Tapping a medicine in the list opens its Detail screen, where you'll find:
Every medicine automatically gets a status color based on its expiration date and stock level. The color appears as a line on the left edge of its card:
| Status | Condition | Color |
|---|---|---|
| 💀 Expired | Expiration date has passed | 🔴 Red |
| ⚠️ Expiring Soon | Within the expiry threshold (default 30 days) | 🟠 Orange |
| 📦 Low Stock | Stock is below the threshold (default 10) | 🟡 Yellow |
| ✅ Normal | All other cases | 🟢 Green |
The 🔔 Alerts screen groups every medicine that needs attention so you can tap through and act on it right away. You can adjust the alert thresholds to your liking in Settings (see Settings).
The 👨👩👧 Family screen lets you manage everyone in your household.
Note: When a member is deleted, their medicines are not lost — they're moved to the archive. When restoring from the archive, you'll be asked to choose a new owner (see Archive).
The archive is where medicines you're not using but don't want to delete are kept. Open it via the 📦 Archive button in the top-right of the Home screen.
Each archived card offers two options:
On the Home screen:
Turn on daily reminder notifications from Settings → Notifications.
Once enabled, the app sends a reminder at your chosen time for medicines that are expiring, expired, or running low on stock.
Since all your data is kept locally on your device, backing it up is important.
Go to Settings → Data Management → Export. You'll set a PIN; the backup file is encrypted with AES-256 and saved with a .enc extension. Android's standard Share menu then opens, letting you choose where to send it: WhatsApp, Gmail, Google Drive, Bluetooth, or "Save to Files" for local phone storage.
To transfer to a computer: Use the Share menu to save the file to your phone via "Save to Files" (or Downloads), then connect your phone to your computer with a USB cable and copy the
.encfile over. The app has no direct USB export feature — USB is just one step in phone-to-computer copying.
Go to Settings → Data Management → Import. Select a previously exported .enc backup file; you'll be asked for the PIN you used when creating it, and the data will be decrypted. Imported data goes through field validation before being loaded.
Backups the app creates are always encrypted (
.enc); it never produces plain.jsonfiles. (If you decrypt the file yourself and prepare a plain.json, that can also be imported, but this isn't needed in normal use.)
Premium users can back up to and restore from Google Drive with a single tap in Settings.
Go to Settings → Emergency Share, pick a person, and tap Share. Only that person's medicine list is shared as text (via WhatsApp, SMS, email, etc.). You can do the same sharing from the buttons on the Detail and Family screens.
🔒 Security: Encryption happens on-device using the Web Crypto API (AES-256-GCM); your PIN is never sent anywhere. Premium status is not included in exported backups.
| Section | Setting |
|---|---|
| Premium | Upgrade to Premium / restore purchases |
| Display | Dark mode toggle · Language (Turkish 🇹🇷 / English 🇬🇧 / German 🇩🇪) |
| Notifications | Daily reminder toggle and time setting |
| Data Management | Encrypted export · Import |
| Google Drive | Backup / restore (Premium) |
| Emergency Share | Choose a person and share their list |
| Alert Thresholds | Low-stock threshold (1–50) · Expiry warning days (7–90) |
| Danger Zone | Delete all medicines (requires confirmation) |
| Rate | Rate the app on Play Store |
| About | Version, total medicine count, last update |
Alert thresholds directly affect status colors. For example, if you set the stock threshold to 5, only medicines with stock below 5 will be marked "Low Stock".
The app is free to use. The free version has these limits:
When you reach this limit, a Premium screen appears while adding a new medicine or member. With Premium:
Purchases are made through Google Play and are a one-time payment, not a subscription. If you switch devices or reinstall the app, use Settings → Restore Purchases to get your premium status back for free.
If you try to import a backup that exceeds the free limit, the app offers a premium upgrade; once purchased, the import completes automatically.
Does my data go to the internet? No. All data is kept in a local file on your device. It only leaves your device when you explicitly export/share it, or (Premium) when you back up to Google Drive.
What if I forget my backup PIN?
An encrypted .enc backup cannot be decrypted without the correct PIN. Keep your PIN somewhere safe.
I accidentally deleted a medicine — can I get it back? You can restore it from the archive. However, permanent deletion (using "Delete" in the archive or "Delete all medicines" in Settings) cannot be undone.
What happens if I add the same medicine twice? The app detects the duplicate and offers you the choice to add to stock or create a separate record.
Can I change the language? Yes, go to Settings → Display → Language to switch between Turkish, English, and German.
Stay healthy. 💚 My Home Pharmacy
